IRGC 'Attacks' Two Vessels In Response To US Strikes, Shuts ...
Thousands of protesters have once again taken to the streets of Tirana as opposition to Jared Kushner's controversial Albania resort project enters a second week. The luxury coastal development, linked to the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, has become one of Albania's most divisive political issues. Supporters view the project as a major investment opportunity that could boost tourism and economic growth, while critics warn it could damage protected natural landscapes and increase pressure on Prime Minister Edi Rama as demonstrations continue to grow.
A major legal setback has hit Donald Trump's immigration agenda after a federal judge struck down the controversial $100,000 H-1B visa fee. The court ruled the measure amounted to an unauthorized tax that only Congress can impose. The decision offers relief to U.S. tech, healthcare, and biotech firms that depend on skilled foreign workers. The Trump administration is expected to appeal the ruling. The verdict could reshape the future of high-skilled immigration in America.

Albanian clashes as protest over Trump-linked resort boils over
The Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump resort was first unveiled in 2024, but the latest wave of protests began after barbed-wire fencing and bulldozers appeared on beaches in late May.
TIRANA, Albania (AFP) — Violent clashes erupted between police and demonstrators outside Albania’s parliament on Thursday, as protests sparked by a resort development linked to U.S. President Donald Trump’s family threatened to escalate.
Protests began in late May againstthe planned construction of a luxury hotellinked to Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner in a nature reserve in Zvernec, on Albania’s southwestern coast.
For the second time this week, crowds gathered outside Parliament to confront lawmakers and block entry to the building.
Lines of riot police pushed them back, leading to clashes and arrests, according to AFP journalists at the scene.
Police used tear gas, pepper spray and water cannon to break up the crowd, and some protesters tried to push through lines of officers.
According to the police 15 officers were injured in the clashes and received hospital treatment, while four remained hospitalized.

As Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama appeared at a rally of jubilant supporters on Friday in Tirana, thousands were already filling a nearby boulevard, repeating daily calls for his resignation.
Opposition to a planned luxury resort linked to US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner has drawn large daily protests for almost two weeks in the Balkan nation.
In late May, local opposition to barbed-wire fencing and bulldozers appearing on a quiet beach in the coastal area of Zvernec — about 100 kilometres (60 miles) southwest of Tirana — exploded into a national movement, after videos of violent clashes between demonstrators and private security spread online.
For Fadel Dia, one of the protesters, the luxury resorts were “only the trigger” and in reality “there are many reasons why we are demonstrating here today”.
“For 36 years, we have been ruled by corrupt governments, one after the other. None of these governments has done anything for the Albanian people. They have only enriched themselves and robbed us”, the 26-year-old IT worker told AFP.

EU warns Albania over Kushner-linked project - POLITICO
TIRANA — The European Commission has cautioned Albania against actions that may impact its EU accession path, amid ongoing national protests over a Jared Kushner-linked development project on the country’s southern coast.
National protests entered their seventh consecutive day on Sunday as Albanians
demanded the cancellation of a luxury resort
linked to U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, arguing that the project threatens a protected wildlife area home to flamingos, seals, and turtle nesting sites.
The Commission is warning that the project could put Albania on a collision course with the EU’s environmental rules, jeopardizing its ability to close the green Chapter 27 in its accession talks.

“Albania should refrain from actions that could undermine the fulfillment of the closing benchmarks and [we] expect the Albanian authorities to act without delay,” a European Commission spokesperson told POLITICO in response to a question about the controversial proposed development.
“In the EU accession process, as part of the closing benchmarks for negotiating Chapter 27 on environment and climate change, Albania is…

Thursday marked the fourth straight day of protests in Albania, that erupted over a proposed billion-dollar luxury resort backed by Jared Kushner, married to Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka. Online though, false videos about the rallies are going viral, with internet users sharing dated and out of context footage misrepresented as the current demonstrations. Albanians feel the Kushner tourism plans will decimate a protected wildlife ecosystem.

TMC Rebellion Faces Tenth Schedule Scrutiny: What Does The Anti ...

In a slickly produced podcast interview published this week, Ivanka Trump talked about her latest real-estate project — what she described as an “unbelievable, beautiful 1,400-hectare private island in the middle of the Mediterranean” plus five beautiful miles of Albanian beachfront intended to become resorts and hotels.
But the project backed by the US president’s daughter and son-in-law Jared Kushner includes planned development of a protected natural area along the coast across from the island, which conservation groups say has already damaged the beautiful area Trump was praising.
The luxury venture has sparked large street protests in the capital, Tirana, where demonstrators carried pink cardboard cutouts of the flamingos whose habitat they say is…

Protesters flood the streets of downtown Tirana every afternoon, chanting slogans, mainly against Prime Minister Edi Rama, but also against opposition leader Sali Berisha.
What started as a pro-environment protest is fast evolving into a widespread expression of public frustration with the country’s governance and with government corruption. More than 100,000 people are estimated to have taken part in the most recent rallies, and their numbers only seem to be swelling, as the unanticipated backlash from the residents of Zvernec against a large-scale hotel development on their beautiful Adriatic coast, in Vlore in southern Albania – by US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and a group of investors from Qatar – caused a spark that reached all the way to Tirana and is now spreading like wildfire across the rest of Alban…

Protests have erupted in Tirana over a proposed $4.6 billion (£3.43 billion) luxury resort linked toDonald Trump's son-in-law,Jared Kushner.
Around 200,000 people descended on the streets of the Albanian capital in opposition to the development, also demanding that Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama step down from office.
The protests were sparked by the controversial tourism development, a project from the Kushner family.
The resort, located in the Vjosa-Narta wetland, is known for its flamingo population, and conservationists have warned the development could damage the environment.
Prime Minister Rama warned that the country is experiencing a rise in cancellations from foreign tourists.
He said: 'The direct consequence (of the protests) is the cancellation of reservations by foreign tourists.'
