"You're either crooked or you're stupid," Trump said as she pressed him on lacking evidence and tried to change the subject. "Your elections are crooked and you're crooked, and 'Meet the Press' is crooked ... You're a one-sided, crooked network. Sorry. Let's call it quits because I've had enough.…

.
Trump was speaking with
Meet the Press
host Kristen Welker in a barn in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on Friday about his proposal for a
$1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund
that has been sidelined since critics claimed it would be used to pay his allies and supporters, including some who took part in the Jan. 6 riot.
Welker asked Trump if the 172 people who pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers—and whom Trump pardoned at the start of his second term—deserved payouts. Trump, without substantiating, claimed that the FBI actually ushered rioters inside the Capitol and that the individuals only pleaded guilty out of fear of getting harsher sentences. Welker told Trump there was no evidence behind his claims, to which he responded, “There’s a lot of evidence,” without offering any specifics.
The President then repeated his longstanding claim that the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to Joe Biden, was rigge…

During the

Trump
was defending his recently announced a nearly $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization fund” to compensate people who believe they were wrongly targeted by the Biden administration. Last week, the Justice Department said the fund, part of a deal to resolve Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS, would not be moving forward.

Miami:A visibly angry Donald Trump stormed out of a major television interview after he was pressed for evidence on a series of sensational and baseless claims, including that American elections are habitually rigged “like a Third World country”.
The US president dropped his microphone to the ground and stepped on it as he exited a combative interview with NBC’sMeet the Press– a long-running political talk show akin to the ABC’sInsiders– during a trip to Wisconsin last week. The segment aired on Sunday.
He used the interview to repeat false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against him, and to argue that the January 6, 2021 rioters were victims of “dirty cops” and wrongly imprisoned.
NBC host Kristen Welker protested that Trump and his allies had never presented any evidence for those claims that had been accepted by a court of law. Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
“Listen to me, there’s tremendous evidence,” Trump said. “The election was rigged, it was a dirty election, and it’s happening again right now in California.”

After expressing his openness to paying those who attacked police officers during the Capitol riot, he dropped
several false, baseless claims

Welker challenged the president’s fog of falsehoods on multiple occasions, later taking on his talk of “rigged” primary elections that took place in California, evidence of which is about as present as the dodo bird.

President Donald Trump
abruptly ended an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" and walked away after moderator
Kristen Welker
challenged him about unsubstantiated claims of "cheating" in the California primary elections.
The dustup between Trump and Welker arrived during a rain-heavy sit down, full of weather-related interruptions, amid the president's pre-midterms visit to Wisconsin, a crucial swing state for both parties that he won in 2024.
After Welker noted that "Republicans are doing well in California" following the June 2 primary contests, Trump said "they're dropping fast because it's a rigged election,"
which led to a tense back-and-forth
in the interview that aired June 7.
Republicans have criticized the dayslong, ongoing counting process in California's primary races.
