The 22-year-old Western Australian, whose previous highest score was 61 not out in ODIs and 64 in all List-A games, hit 13 fours and six sixes. The next highest Australian score was Marnus Labuschagne’s 29.
“[It was] tough towards the end,” he admitted. “I felt like my body was all in shock and not wanting to move.
“But it was nice to play a role in a win for Australia.
“The enjoyment of playing for Australia and batting out in the middle is always something that’s exciting and to spend a bit of time out there was nice.”

However, a valiant ton from Connolly and crucial knocks from the likes of Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green and Oliver Peake helped Australia get over the line with three balls to spare.
Connolly opened the innings with skipper Josh Inglis, who was dismissed cheaply on 21 after getting off to a cracker of a start. Shoriful Islam dismissed Inglis to draw the first blood for Bangladesh before removing Matt Renshaw on a duck in the same over to pile more misery on the visitors.
Australia lost Alex Carey cheaply in the 12th over, leaving them reeling at 70/3. Connolly then combined with…

Australia
avoided a series whitewash against Bangladesh in the BAN vs AUS ODI series, but it took a maiden ODI century from Cooper Connolly, a catastrophic late collapse, a reprieved Adam Zampa, and a final-over boundary to get there. Australia’s looked routine for 45 overs, but it became genuinely alarming by the 48th.
Chasing Bangladesh’s 274/5 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Australia scraped through in the last over after losing four wickets for five runs, the kind of collapse that turns what should be a footnote into the whole story.

Cooper Connolly smashed a magnificent 149 to rescue a short-handed Australia, guiding them to a thrilling one-wicket win over Bangladesh in Dhaka to prevent a historic ODI series whitewash.
Bangladesh was denied a historic clean sweep over Australia in ODIs after Cooper Connolly’s maiden hundred saw the visitors conclude the One-Day series with a close win. The left-hander came good in the third and final ODI in Dhaka on Sunday (Jun 14), smashing a brilliant 149 to help Australia complete a narrow one-wicket win inside the 50th over. Trailing 0-2 in the lead-up to the final game, Australia needed a heroic effort to avoid a whitewash, and it came through the newbie Connolly, who has further cemented his place in the white-ball side.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The two openers, Tanzid and Sarkar, departed inside the Powerplay, followed by captain Shanto. Australia had Bangladesh’s back against the wall before seasoned campaigner Litton Das and in-form batter Towhid Hridoy added 185 runs for the fourth wicket to revive the hosts.

Adam Zampa and debutant Joel Davies have spun Australia to a four-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first T20 of their three-match series.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Bangladesh were bundled out for an under-par 131 in 19 overs, which the Aussies moved past with 10 deliveries to spare at Chattogram on Wednesday to take a 1-0 series lead.
Cooper Connolly, the hero of Australia’s ODI victory in Dhaka on Sunday, continued his form surge, top-scoring with 47 in an otherwise unconvincing chase from the tourists.
