Tragic Brazilian rope jumper Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas left behind a hair-raising message on social media, it's been revealed.
Yesterday (June 13), at Limeira's Skeleton Bridge, the 21-year-old
gym worker
lost her life after staff allegedly failed to perform the proper safety procedures before flinging her 131 feet down into a ravine.
Maria was taking part in a rope jump, which is similar to a bungee jump but does not use an elasticated rope. Participants' falls are interrupted in a controlled manner, before they swing from the rope.
Unattached to any kind of life-saving rope, she died on impact as a small crowd at the edge of the bridge realised what had just unfolded; "People, the rope!" and "Guys, the rope!" were two audible comments from online footage of the moment.

The young Brazilian woman who was thrown to her death by careless bungee jump staff was still alive immediately after the fall, according to an off-duty nurse who tried to save her.
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, died after she was hurled from an abandoned 130-foot Skeleton Bridge in Sao Paulo state without a rope on Saturday.
The aspiring physical education teacher had asked to be launched 'airplane style,' with two instructors hoisting her above their shoulders as she spread her arms, according to local reports and as seen in viral footage.
The operators who failed to attach a rope to her harness have been charged with homicide with eventual intent, which is applied when the suspect did not mean to kill but acted with extreme recklessness, causing death.
No company has emerged taking responsibility for the tragic botched jump and death, and it appears that the men may have been operating as an unauthorized group.
Shockingly, Rodrigues de Freitas did not die immediately after plunging…

Before throwing awoman to her death from an abandoned bridge in a horrific botched bungee jump, instructors at a Brazilian company performed reckless stunts and launched children from the same bridge.
Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, one of the men arrested for allegedly throwing Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, to her death on Saturday, frequently took to social media to share adrenaline-fueled antics from Skeleton Bridge in Sao Paolo.
In one jaw-dropping video from 2023, Egoroff was seen holding onto a bungee rope with one hand as a young child clung to his neck, before running off the side of the bridge.
In other videos, the bungee instructor and other workers were seen barely missing columns on the abandoned bridge and performing risky flips while holding onto bungee cords, displaying an unnerving lack of safety precautions.
The same 130-foot drop is where Egoroff and two other men allegedly threw Freitas to her death on Saturday, after forgetting to…
