The Director of Corporate Services at the NCDMB, Dr Abdulmalik Halilu, disclosed this on Monday in Abuja while presenting an overview of the board’s mandate and achievements at a capacity-building workshop for journalists. Halilu said the oil and gas parks, established to boost local manufacturing through shared infrastructure and embedded power solutions, were designed to deepen Nigerian participation in the sector. NCDMB, Akwa Ibom partner on Oil and Gas Park – Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board The Akwa Ibom State Government has made a firm commitment to work with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to develop an oil and gas park in the state. Rising from a meeting held recently by top officials of the government and the Board in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, an agreement was reached to site one of the planned parks in Ikwe community, Onna Local Government Area of the state as part of the strategies to bring activities of the oil and gas industry closer to local communities, engender development and create job opportunities. The Nigerian Oil and Gas Parks Scheme (NOGaPS) was conceived by the Board to develop facilities close to oil fields where manufacturing of oil and gas components as well as research and development can be carried out. The parks would also serve for the integration of local entrepreneurs into manufacturing for the oil and gas and create an opportunity for the mentoring of the entrepreneurs by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other multinationals. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has reaffirmed that the Nigerian Oil and Gas Parks Scheme (NOGaPS) Industrial Park in Bayelsa State will be fully operational before the end of 2025. Speaking in Yenagoa during an oversight visit by the Senate Committee on Local Content, Engr. Ogbe led the delegation on a tour of the industrial facility and disclosed that vendors are already on standby to occupy their designated spaces as soon as the park is completed.
