ISLAMABAD — A Pakistani court on Friday sentenced the country's already-imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife to 14 and seven years in jail after finding them guilty of corruption, officials and his lawyer said.
It's yet another blow for the former premier who has been behind the bars since 2023.
The couple are accused of accepting a gift of land from a real estate tycoon in exchange for laundered money when Khan was in power.

Imran Khan
's party to 10-year imprisonment in a case related to the 2023 riots, while it acquitted ex-foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Violent protests erupted across the country on May 9, 2023, mainly in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following the arrest of former cricketer-turned-politician Khan. The protesters vandalised dozens of military installations and state-owned buildings.
Former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, former Punjab health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, former Punjab minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, and former Senator Ejaz Chaudhry were convicted for their role in attacking and burning police vehicles in Mughalpura area of Lahore.
The verdict, which was reserved on Thursday, was pronounced by

47 leaders and supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to 10 years imprisonment on terrorism charges.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Anti-Terrorism Court-1 in Rawalpindi sentenced the 47 on charges under 21-L of the
Anti-Terrorism Act
(ATA), 1997. Section 21-L of the ATA, 1997 prohibits a person accused of another offence within the ATA, 1997 from obstructing justice by avoiding arrest or evading participation within an inquiry or investigation. This offence bears a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 10 years. The 47 were also sentenced to pay a fine of rs500,000 ($1,785 USD)

RAWALPINDI:An anti-terrorism court on Saturday sentenced 47 proclaimed offenders—including several senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)—to 10 years in prison for their involvement in the attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi during the violent unrest of May 9, 2023.
